What we do.

What we do at Ducks & Drakes Cancer Trust

Ducks and Drakes Cancer Trust was founded to help save lives and promote well-being by raising awareness of cancer and specifically Bowel Cancer in young people, aged 18 to 40 in Dorset and UK and to support Bowel Cancer patients and their families through the provision of specialist medical equipment and financial aid.  The Trust was founded in 2012 by Andrew Drake and his family following the bowel cancer diagnosis of Andrew, aged 24. The Trust is registered with the Charity Commission No: 1147024.

The Trust was founded to:
Create and boost awareness of bowel cancer in young people, aged 18 to 40 in Dorset and the UK.
To provide personal financial grants to people and their families to help with the costs of day-to-day living.
To support bowel cancer patients and their families through the provision of specialist equipment.
To fund local cancer related charities and organisations in the Dorset area.
 
Ducks and Drakes Cancer Trust is based in Dorset and was founded by Andrew Drake and his family following the bowel cancer diagnosis of Andrew aged 24. You can read about Andrew's story here.

SPEAK AT YOUR EVENT - We can come and speak at your event or club about bowel cancer awareness and Andrew's story if you would like to book us please Contact Ducks & Drakes.
 
AWARENESS - We can also provide you with posters and leaflets to help raise awareness of the symptoms of bowel cancer. Please contact us to request promotional materials.

​If you have any of these symptoms get yourself down to the quack!

The symptoms of bowel (colorectal) cancer can be:
  • Bleeding from your bottom and/or blood in your stools
  • A change in bowel habit lasting for 3 weeks or more especially to looser or runny stools
  • Unexplained weight loss, extreme tiredness for no obvious reason, a severe pain or lump in your tummy
